Pain does not always equal damage
Back and neck pain can be worrying, especially when it affects sleep, work or exercise. Symptoms may be influenced by several factors, and scans do not always explain why someone hurts or what they should do next.
Physiotherapy can help you understand your symptoms, identify signs that need further investigation and develop a safe plan for movement, strength and return to activity.
We commonly help with
• Recent or persistent lower-back pain
• Neck pain and stiffness
• Pain associated with sitting, lifting or work
• Sciatic or nerve-related symptoms where physiotherapy is appropriate
• Recurrent episodes of pain
• Reduced confidence with movement or exercise
• Returning to the gym, work or sport after pain
What treatment looks like
Your assessment considers symptoms, medical history, movement, strength, function and your goals. Advice, progressive exercise and activity planning form the core of care. Hands-on treatment or other clinical techniques may be included where they support the plan.
Safety first
If your symptoms indicate that medical investigation or urgent care may be required, this will be explained and the appropriate referral advised. New changes to bladder or bowel control, numbness around the saddle area, rapidly worsening weakness, major trauma or severe systemic illness require urgent medical assessment.
